Job Title: Pulsed Power Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Pulsed Power Engineer to join our team at General Fusion, a leading company in the development of commercially-viable fusion power plants.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high voltage/high current pulsed power components and systems to support fusion research. This is a hands-on position that requires experience with real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high voltage/high current pulsed power components and systems
  • Construct and test design prototypes
  • Deploy pulsed power systems, including coordination with internal and external groups
  • Design for challenging environments (high temperature, high vacuum, EMI, reactive metal, high shock/vibration)
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with the design of high current, high voltage systems
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly advancing and evolving work environment
  • Strong documentation and organization skills and experience with tools such as: MS Office, Sharepoint, PDM, Github, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other team members
Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Mechanical design and assembly skills (SolidWorks, machine shop hands-on, 3D printing)
  • Experience designing for high vacuum environments
  • Experience with design and implementation of electronics in a high EMI environment
  • Hands-on high voltage testing and safety
  • Experience with Python, Assembly, C/C++ or other relevant programming languages

Expected Salary Range - $90,000 - $100,000
