Job Title: Pulsed Power Engineering Technician

General Fusion is seeking a skilled Pulsed Power Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide hands-on support for mechanical and electrical equipment related to our pulsed power equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and maintain pulsed power specific equipment, including buss work, relays, high voltage switches, coaxial cabling, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain shop, shop tools, and materials.
  • Design and construct static mechanical jigs, fixtures, stands, brackets, and holders using varied materials.
  • Specify and order parts and materials for these projects.
  • Work while keeping personal and co-worker safety as the top priority.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a shop or lab environment and/or working hands-on with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Hands-on electrical experience, including wiring, soldering, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical skills, including mechanical assembly, and basic shop tools.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years relevant experience, including experience with high-voltage or high-energy electrical systems.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipment.
  • Demonstrated workshop skills, including steel fabrication, MIG/TIG welding, lathe and mill operation.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks).
  • Familiarity with 3D printing (SLA or FDM).
  • PLC programming or related control system experience.
  • Experience working with and safely moving large equipment. Forklift experience an asset.
  • Hobby project experience with any combination of the above skills.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 CAD annually plus benefits and incentives.
