Pulsed Power Engineer Job Description

General Fusion is seeking an experienced Pulsed Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Pulsed Power Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high voltage/high current pulsed power components and systems to support fusion research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop pulsed power systems, including high voltage and high current components
  • Construct and test design prototypes to ensure reliability and performance
  • Deploy pulsed power systems, coordinating with internal and external groups as needed
  • Design systems for challenging environments, including high temperature, high vacuum, EMI, and reactive metal
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Experience with high current and high voltage systems design and development
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly advancing and evolving work environment
  • Strong documentation and organization skills, with experience using tools such as MS Office, Sharepoint, PDM, and Github
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other team members
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical design and assembly skills, including SolidWorks and machine shop experience
  • Experience designing for high vacuum environments
  • Experience with design and implementation of electronics in high EMI environments
  • Hands-on high voltage testing and safety experience
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Assembly, or C/C++
