About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Management Consultant to join our team at Workiva. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for driving discussions on use case development, influencing product features, and creating scalable scripting solutions on the Workiva Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Use Case Identification and Development: Identify and develop advanced Python scripting use cases through cross-functional sessions, considering client needs and technical landscapes.
  2. Scripting and Automation: Develop robust Python scripts to automate data processes, enhance data management capabilities, integrate new features into the Workiva Platform, and extend the Workiva Platform.
  3. Consulting and Strategic Leadership: Provide expert consulting services to internal teams and external clients and partners, advocating best practices in scalable data management and scripting.
  4. Implementation Services: Implement Platform scripting solutions that ensure efficient deployment and operation.
  5. Influencing Product Development: Collaborate with product teams to guide product feature design and enhancement based on insights from data management challenges and scripting efficiencies.
  6. Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge sharing and skills development by becoming a reference in the Workiva online developer community, organizing workshops, writing white papers, and conducting presentations on Workiva scripting capabilities and their benefits to extend the Workiva platform.
  7. Documentation and Analytics: Create detailed documentation for implemented scripts and system architectures. Generate insightful metrics to evaluate solution efficiency and scalability of solutions in place.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  2. Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing data management solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Business Acumen: Experience working with business stakeholders, application partners, and product managers to gather data requirements and convert them into technical designs.
  2. Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in Python scripting, automation, and data manipulation for building scalable workflows.
  3. API Experience: Experience executing APIs using SOAP and REST protocols through scripting.
  4. Platform Familiarity: Familiarity with the Workiva Platform.
  5. Programming Skills: Programming experience in Python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib (Certifications Preferred like PCAP and PCAP1).
  6. Cloud Experience: Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and Data analytics platforms/services.
  7. Integration Experience: Experience with API management tools, Middleware & Data integration/ETL platforms (e.g., Informatica, Workato, Talend, MuleSoft), and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
Travel and Work Requirements
  1. Travel: Up to 25% travel to meet with customers, vendors, suppliers, or attend trade shows.
  2. Remote Work: Reliable internet access for remote work.
