VOLKSWAGEN Group is Seeking a Skilled Travel Professional

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Travel Management Specialist to join our team based out of St. Thomas, ON.

Our mission at VOLKSWAGEN Group's largest cell factory in St. Thomas is to transform the mobility landscape through innovation and sustainability. As part of our ramp-up team, you will work closely with the HR Team in St. Thomas, our PowerCo SE team members at Headquarters in Germany as well as colleagues from the Volkswagen Group Canada in Ajax, ON.

Reporting temporarily to the Chief Human Resources Officer for VGCA, you will be responsible for determining travel policies and regularly adapting them to local, legal, and corporate requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Determine and implement travel policies that meet local, legal, and corporate requirements.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Provide professional support in negotiations with service providers and travel agencies to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with preferred partners for travel services, ensuring seamless execution of travel plans.
  • Expense Control: Oversee and control travel expenses at a higher level in alignment with travel policy guidelines.
  • Process Optimization: Conduct quality controls and generate reports on processes and workflows, highlighting necessary improvements.
  • Employee Support: Foster an employee-oriented approach to travel management, addressing inquiries and providing professional assistance to enhance overall employee experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in business administration, vocational training as a travel agent, or a comparable qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in travel management, preferably with SAP Concur.
  • Project Management: Project management experience considered an asset.
  • Certifications: Familiarity with the purpose and logistics of corporate travel, experience with local and global travel practices.
