Drywall Installation Job Description

At Chandigarh Construction Inc., we are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drywall installation, with experience in supervising other workers and applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other drywall installers
  • Apply and sand successive coats of compound to ensure a smooth finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure a strong bond
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat as required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation

Work Environment:

This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The work language is English.
