Agilus Work Solutions is seeking an experienced OSP Design Lead to join our team in the Telecommunications industry. As an OSP Design Lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing outside plant (OSP) telecommunications projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Layout: Design and layout of fiber optic networks, including aerial and underground telecommunications, using fiber optics techniques and methodology.
  • Engineering Drawings: Prepare engineering drawings, including cable and splicing plans, conduit plans, and other related documents.
  • GIS/CAD Duties: Perform GIS/CAD duties, including updating Fiber Design databases, maintaining system maps, and importing AutoCAD, TIFF, or other file formats.
  • Network Design: Design fiber optic communications network systems to client design specifications, incorporating field changes and as-built changes from draft prints to the system database.
  • Permitting and Approvals: Prepare permitting packages, manage the approval process, and create and validate detailed BOM (Bill of material) lists.
  • Quality of Design: Determine the method to design the network with minimal impact to the system/customer and minimize related construction cost, ensuring quality of design.

Requirements:

  • Education: Post-secondary diploma in Electrical, Civil, Architectural Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering fiber optic networks.
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge and skills in Autodesk AutoCAD, GIS software, and tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, and 3-GIS.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of CSA standards, including but not limited to CSA 22.3, and experience with customer-specific applications such as NetX and SpatialNet.
