About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager to join our team at Plan Group. As a key member of our integrated construction team, you will be responsible for leading electrical design projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical design resources and lead important decision-making with expert consultants
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities during the proposal phase
  • Oversee comprehensive and detailed project bids
Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in electrical engineering in the construction industry, with a degree in electrical engineering or relevant professional experience
  • A professional engineering degree in Ontario or British Columbia, or a degree in engineering in Quebec, is considered an asset
  • Experience with alternative financing and procurement (AFP) projects focused on electricity is required
  • Experience with design-build projects, particularly in the healthcare sector, is an asset
  • Practical knowledge of relevant construction and electrical codes (e.g. NBCC, OESC, CSA, NFPA, etc.) is required
  • Ability to travel for meetings with architects and consultants
  • Strong understanding of the impact of design decisions on costs is required
  • Strong decision-making skills for bid development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise is considered an asset
