Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Nutritional and Functional Ingredients Group, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, forecasting, and inventory management.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the replenishment process by promptly placing orders with trusted suppliers;
  • Maintain precise inventory control and monitor stock levels to ensure optimal product availability;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements;
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise;
  • Diligently reconcile complex supplier invoices on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial transactions;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders;
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and quality documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines;
  • Review and take action on weekly profit/loss reports, collaborating on cost-saving initiatives and optimizing procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce expenses;
  • Analyze various reports generated by different systems, allowing us to derive valuable insights and make informed decisions based on data;
  • Handle data entry across multiple platforms, ensuring accurate and seamless information management;
  • Manage and support various projects.

Your Qualifications:

  • University degree or post-secondary education in Business/Commerce or Science;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in procurement, replenishment, and inventory control;
  • Experience in a food ingredients or food manufacturing environment is an asset;
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce) and experience working with SAP or JD Edwards;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate, understand requirements, and influence decisions;
  • Detailed oriented with a keen eye for detail, minimizing the risk of errors or oversights that could impact the procurement process;
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting, managing multiple deadlines with finesse and agility;
  • Solutions-oriented attitude with a growth mindset;
  • Familiarity with industry trends, market conditions, sales trends, and best practices in procurement.

About the Opportunity:

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience.
