Electrical Heat Transfer Engineer Contract Position

Partner Staffing is a leading recruitment agency specializing in the Oil & Gas sector. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Heat Transfer Engineer for a 68-month contract with a large oil company based in Calgary.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Electrical engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, engineering and design calculations, and standard engineering work planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing engineering and design duties associated with project scope of work, liaising with other disciplines and project management, and performing engineering and design activities including electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics, EHT design, and all other Electrical deliverables.
The Electrical Heat Transfer Engineer will also be responsible for performing engineering for procurement activities, including RFQ/MRP development, technical evaluation, and vendor drawing approvals, and developing Construction Work Packages, including project descriptions, construction specifications, IFC drawings, and MTOs.
The successful candidate will be required to provide construction support as needed, follow and adhere to industry and Canadian Natural codes, standards, and regulations, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, be registered and in good standing with APEGA, and have at least 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role working in oil sands facilities with hands-on electrical engineering design and construction experience.
The Electrical Heat Transfer Engineer will be responsible for working collaboratively and proactively with others to achieve organizational goals, identifying complex problems and solutions, and demonstrating realistic trust in their abilities and remaining confident when challenged.
The successful candidate will be expected to possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be able to work under pressure, and have a strong ability to communicate and work well with other departments.
The Electrical Heat Transfer Engineer will be required to have a good working knowledge of current construction practices, including working drawing production and construction reviews, as well as specifications, contracts, and consultant agreements.
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of building lighting, power, and systems, mechanical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems, and experience with AutoCAD and REVIT drawing review.
The successful candidate will be required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license for the province of Ontario.
