Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physical Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients with various injuries or disabilities.

Responsibilities

The Physical Rehabilitation Specialist will be responsible for assessing patients' physical abilities, assisting healthcare professionals, and carrying out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists.

- Assess patients' physical abilities to develop effective treatment plans

- Assist healthcare professionals in providing top-notch patient care

- Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities

- Apply and adjust casts, splints, and bandages as needed

- Clean and maintain equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment

- Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies to support patient care

- Maintain clinical and progress reports to track patient progress

- Process files and paperwork efficiently and accurately

- Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history to inform treatment plans

- Organize and maintain inventory to ensure timely and effective patient care

Requirements

- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in a related field

- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical stamina

- Strong initiative and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and situations

- Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines

- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism in a challenging environment

Work Setting

This role will be based in a long-term care center, providing a supportive and collaborative work environment.

- Criminal record check is required for this position
