Reporting to the Director of Finance at The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners, this key role will be an integral part of the accounting team. In the short term, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Controller during a major ERP system implementation, covering their day-to-day responsibilities. As the successful applicant grows into the position, the long-term plan is to mentor them towards the Director of Finance role under the incumbent's guidance.

A strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations is essential for excelling in this position. Your analytical mindset and technical skills will enable you to contribute significantly to the month-end and financial reporting process. Furthermore, your passion for technology and process improvements will be invaluable in embracing change and finding innovative solutions.

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to provide strategic decision support, helping drive the future direction and continued growth of our client as they transition into the next stage of their evolution.

Requirements:

  • A Canadian CPA designation is mandatory
  • At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience in a full-cycle accounting role or a CPA firm
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and an analytical approach
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, ASPE or PSA)
  • An excellent communicator
  • Critical thinking skills
  • A passion for process improvement and change management
  • Familiarity with integrating various financial systems
  • A collaborative and respectful attitude when working with diverse teams
