Accounting and Reporting Expert
As a key member of our Finance team, you will provide comprehensive accounting services to our branches and subsidiaries. This role involves preparing monthly financial statements and reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries, as well as working with the Finance team to prepare year-end consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly securitization reports and reconciliations, reviewing existing accounting policies, and updating as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries.
- Work with the Finance team to prepare year-end consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements.
- Prepare monthly securitization reports and reconciliations.
- Review existing accounting policies and update as necessary.
- Coordinate all fixed asset accounting, including classification, setup, and tracking.
- Act as a backup for daily reconciliation and identify and investigate outstanding charges and credits.
- Review monthly financial statements for assigned branches to identify anomalies and explain variances.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for BlueShore Financial subsidiaries.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual corporate budget.
- Identify and review current processes to improve operational efficiencies and internal controls.
- Act as a subject matter expert in supporting the accounting team and clients with accounting inquiries.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Enrolled in the CPA program.
- 4+ years accounting experience.
- Solid knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
- Experience in financial services considered an asset.
Pay Transparency
The target range of this role is $74,000 - $91,000/year, plus a variable performance bonus.
