The Opportunity


This 14-month temporary full-time role offers a challenging opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.


As a Senior Accountant in Financial Reporting and Standards, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting services and solutions to the organization.


You will ensure that policies, programs, services, and strategies are conceptualized, developed, and implemented efficiently.


Key Responsibilities



  • Perform complex analyses and operational reports for internal and external audiences;
  • Provide expertise, analysis, and advice to internal and external stakeholders to enable the business to deliver on operational and financial reporting efficiently and effectively;
  • Oversee and approve the capture and integrity of financial data;
  • Provide expert accounting, procedural, process, analytical, and business systems expertise to the corporation;
  • Develop schedules, deadlines, and project timelines for and overseeing execution of the capital planning budget process;
  • Assist in providing direction and resolving highly complex issues with regards to capitalization of assets, including interpreting relevant capital policies and related accounting standards;
  • Prepare financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements;
  • Act as a consultative partner by providing expertise, analysis, and advice to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proactively develop, maintain, and manage strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;

About You



  • An accredited professional accounting designation;
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience;
  • Advanced knowledge of principles of accounting with the ability to apply them in a practical way;
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees, and peers;
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints;
  • Ability to assist, direct, and provide ongoing review, feedback, and training on the operational activities of the accountants;
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to be self-motivated, work independently, as well as being part of a team;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Working knowledge of corporate financial systems (SAP, BlackLine, Workiva);
  • Strong computer skills – MS office suite;
  • Attention to detail.
