Job Title: Application Specialist

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking an experienced Application Specialist to join our Digital Software Services team. As an essential member of our team, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology delivery, specifically within the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support, including resolution of complex and escalated issues, to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of in-house projects, training programs, manuals, and documentation.
  • Perform and coordinate various testing types for new releases and changes.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, validation, and maintenance of LIS systems and related upstream and downstream systems.
  • Collaborate with Manager, Team Leads, and co-workers to ensure exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math, Health Informatics, or related field, or demonstrated mastery of relevant material.
  • Completion of Medical Laboratory Technologist Diploma program or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certification in Epic Beaker required.
  • Additional certification in other Epic modules welcome.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) preferred.
  • 2-3 years industry experience in 2nd level application support required.
  • 1-2 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist preferred.
