About the Role

Nortera Foods Inc. is a leading producer of high-quality vegetables, and we are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join our team.

This is a critical role that requires a strong leader to oversee the maintenance and engineering departments, ensuring that our facilities and equipment are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance and engineering departments, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for diagnosing equipment malfunctions, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Capital Projects: Coordinate and lead capital projects, working closely with the Plant Manager and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets, ensuring that expenses are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Health and Safety: Accountable for the health and safety of employees under your supervision, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that the workplace is safe and compliant with regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, and that all quality protocols are followed.
  • Training and Development: Supervise and train employees, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Communication: Participate in daily production meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed post-secondary program in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance and engineering, preferably in a food production environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in G Suite, Excel, and AUTOCAD, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Language: Proficient spoken and written English.
