Waste Management Project Director

At GHD, we're committed to solving the world's biggest challenges in water, energy, and urbanization. As a Waste Management Project Director, you'll play a key role in growing our solid waste practice and leveraging our expertise in innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Business Development Manager to build the business in the Northwest.
  • Lead proposals for new projects and ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of waste management projects.
  • Develop and implement waste management plans, including planning and design of composting facilities, anaerobic digestion facilities, landfills, transfer stations, and renewable natural gas projects.
  • Work with GHD's waste management planning team to undertake technical components of master plans.
  • Prepare technical reports and conduct peer reviews of designs completed by others in the Waste Management group.
  • Effectively communicate and connect with existing and prospective clients.
  • Complete regulatory conformance reviews and project management of studies and designs to support permitting applications.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to intermediate and junior technical staff across our offices in Western Canada.
  • Contribute to the growth and direction of the North American Waste Management Team.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in the solid waste industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consulting role.
  • 10 years' experience in a business development role.
  • Engineer, scientist, or planner.
  • Valid class 5 drivers' license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel overnight and conduct field work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
