The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Envelope Specialist to join our team at LVI Associates. As a key member of our performance engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and evaluating building envelope systems that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough building envelope assessments, including roofs, façades, waterproofing, and insulation systems.
  • Develop and review designs for building envelope systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.
  • Perform modeling of envelope assemblies using various software tools.
  • Lead forensic investigations to identify and address issues such as water intrusion, material failures, and thermal inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, project specifications, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.
  • Conduct site observations during construction and post-construction phases to ensure proper installation and performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Architecture in Building Science/Building Enclosures/Historic Preservation, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 11+ years of expertise in the design, evaluation, and assessment of building envelope systems.
  • Experience in building envelope design, maintenance, and retrofit and the integrated design and delivery of high-performance buildings.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AUTOCAD, REVIT, Rhino, Grasshopper).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Bonuses based on performance.
