Our Renewal Practice

We provide comprehensive services for existing buildings, addressing a wide range of structural, envelope, and building systems needs. Our multidisciplinary team offers condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews, as well as design repairs, renovations, and alterations. We oversee project execution, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional results.

The Role

We seek a Senior Project Engineer for our Renewal Practice, responsible for investigating building structures and envelopes, preparing repair recommendations, and coordinating design work with in-house staff and consultants. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design, repair, renovation, retrofit design, demolition, and/or property loss consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate building structures and envelopes to assess conditions and prepare repair recommendations.
  • Complete structural analysis and repair rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Coordinate design work with in-house staff and consultants, including architects, engineers, cost consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare technical documents for building structure and envelope projects.
  • Assist in construction administration for structural and envelope projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience with existing building structures and/or envelopes for renovation and extensions.
  • Hold or working toward professional engineer (P.Eng) licensure or Building Science Specialist (BSS) certification.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience with technical writing.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Ontario.
