Chief Investment Strategist for Ontario's Infrastructure Growth

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Investment Strategist to lead our efforts in driving Ontario's infrastructure growth. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision for the Building Ontario Fund, aligning objectives with the needs of Ontario's priority sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience, with a proven track record in executing financing transactions in at least one of the Fund's priority sectors. They will possess strong financial acumen, knowledge of public-private financing models, and excellent relationship-building skills. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is required, with a master's degree or equivalent experience being preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership
  • Vision and Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the Building Ontario Fund, ensuring alignment with the needs of Ontario's priority sectors.
  • Sector Expertise: Lead transactions and initiatives within the aforementioned priority sectors, fostering inclusive and sustainable development.
  • Innovation and Development: Champion innovative transaction approaches to funding and development, identifying opportunities to maximize resources and impact.
Investment Management
  • Transaction Evaluation & Triage: Evaluate pipeline transactions and prioritize execution in alignment with the Fund's strategic objectives.
  • Transaction Structuring & Negotiations: Lead the negotiation and structuring of priority transactions to optimize return on investment and achieve policy objectives.
  • Transaction Close & Reporting: Ensure seamless transaction closing and documentation, collaborating with internal teams as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partnerships: Foster relationships with government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations to advance Ontario's infrastructure goals.
  • Public Sector Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between the Building Ontario Fund and industry stakeholders, advocating for sustainable and equitable investment strategies.
Operational Management
  • Financial Stewardship: Provide oversight of the Fund's financial health, ensuring sound budgeting and effective resource utilization.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting a culture of innovation and integrity.
