Job Summary

The Animator is a key member of our team, responsible for creating high-quality motion graphics and computer-generated animation for various projects. With a focus on detailed, hyper-realistic mocap and facial performance, this role requires expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and animate complex characters and scenes using computer animation software
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve aesthetic solutions and provide feedback on dailies
  • Maintain a high level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work
  • Act as a mentor to junior animators and assist with their shots
  • Perform other tasks related to the creation of computer-generated animation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional VFX experience and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in traditional animation or computer animation
  • Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design
  • Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting, as well as expert knowledge of Maya and other software programs
  • Ability to take on delegated tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

What We Offer

ILM offers a competitive salary range of C$84,100 to C$107,700 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and other variable pay or benefits may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
