About the Role:
Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a skilled Animator to join our team. As an Animator, you will be responsible for creating animated characters and objects that meet required direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create desired performance of digital characters within a shot.
- Emphasize conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each specific project.
- Meet schedules and show deadlines, participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
- Interact with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to the show/assigned tasks.
Requirements:
- Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation.
- Knowledge of applicable software packages, including Maya, required.
- Background or experience in fine art, which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form highly desired.
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy, as well as life drawing skills, desirable.
What We Offer:
- Anticipated base salary for an Associate position: $26.44 to $36.32/hr.
- Benefits per company policy: include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable.
