Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Burnaby. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing recovery-oriented care to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients and contribute to the development of our programs and services.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement recovery plans in collaboration with clients and natural supports, and provide comprehensive case consultation and follow-up support on treatment decisions.
Provide individual, group, and family support using various interviewing, supportive counseling, and assessment methods.
Support the intake process, assess client needs, and gather client information/history via phone interviews or other methods.
Facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs through research, liaison, and referrals.
Advocate on behalf of clients, provide information about appeal processes, and assist clients with completing forms.
Make necessary arrangements for clients to be admitted to hospital when required, including involuntary admission.
Provide client care linkages between community mental health & substance use services and acute care facilities.
Provides individual and group sessions, including psycho-education or skill development groups, to clients and families with complex needs.
Maintain client records by recording information, preparing progress notes and reports, and documenting for future reference.
Provide follow-up care and services as required, including referrals to other healthcare professionals.
Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, and participate in ongoing education to maintain current and relevant practice.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline.
Two (2) years' recent, related experience working with clients and families with mental illness and substance use disorders.
Eligible for registration or membership with applicable professional association or regulatory body.
Valid Class V BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
We offer a competitive salary range of CAD $42.27 - $52.81/hour, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
