Job Title: Addiction Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Addiction Nurse to join our team at the Vancouver Detox Centre. As an Addiction Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with addiction.

Job Summary:

The Addiction Nurse will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to clients in the process of detoxification, stabilization, and transition into other residential addiction services. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with challenging clients and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care and supportive counseling to clients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve excellence in client-centered care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of clients
  • Conduct assessments and provide education to clients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care
Qualifications:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Two years' recent, related clinical experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use concerns
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes
