Job Title: Personal Support Worker - Care Assistant

We are hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in Thornhill to join our team at Spectrum Health Care.

About the Role:

As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to our patients in their homes or facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, skincare, and light meal preparation.
  • Continuously assessing and responding to the changing needs of our patients, communicating available resources to them when necessary.
  • Performing delegated tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Traveling within assigned regions between patients' residences or facilities.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • One of the following qualifications: Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry-approved program, RN/RPN Student with one year of completion, Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
  • A G2/G License with access to a vehicle.
  • The physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching freely for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • A valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
  • A valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • An updated immunization record, including a TB Test within the last six months.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
