Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Manager, Credit Risk Expert to join our team at Scotiabank. In this role, you will be responsible for exercising sound credit judgement and providing quality underwriting decisions for small business credit requests.



About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced credit risk professional to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit risk management principles and practices, and the ability to analyze complex credit data and make sound decisions.



Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze credit submissions from partners and make recommendations for credit decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate credit risk.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate complex credit information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Requirements

Education and Experience


  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in credit risk management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of analyzing complex credit data and making sound decisions.


Skills and Qualifications


  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex credit information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.


Work Environment

This role is based in Mississauga, Ontario, or Montreal, Quebec, and will require regular travel to meet with business partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to commute to the office or work remotely as needed.



What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement savings plan.
