Job Summary

The Assistant Manager is a key member of the Dexterra Group team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and direct staff to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor cash handling and implement controls to prevent discrepancies.
  • Handle HR-related tasks, including vacation requests and administrative functions, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures, as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Recruit and train staff to meet operational needs.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules to optimize productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and physical safety regulations.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Control inventory and monitor revenue streams.
  • Participate in menu planning for events and themed promotions.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
  • Drive operational efficiency and productivity goals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring high-quality facilities and food services.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction, aligning with company goals.

Requirements

  • Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage management.
  • 2-4 years' experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as ADP payroll systems.
  • Servesafe, First Aid, and Smart Serve certifications are an asset.
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Experience working with fresh ingredients and creating meals from scratch in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications as required to comply with local health codes.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards.
  • Ability to lift (10kg.), pull, and push carts.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
