Job Opportunity

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Distribution Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a key member of our electrical distribution team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and oversight of design teams for electrical distribution infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical distribution team in British Columbia, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the team.
  • Develop and implement operating standards, processes, and principles to maximize synergy and commercial benefit.
  • Oversee the development of design work packages, including scope, schedule, and effort estimates.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and operations performance for the Distribution market in BC.
  • Resolve complex technical and design problems through independent studies and analysis.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of Distribution engineering services.
  • Provide specialized expertise in Distribution leadership and mentor, coach, and set high standards for work performance.
  • Exercise innovation to propose creative modifications to improve work processes and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering.
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility to become a P.Eng with EGBC.
  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering role with specific Distribution knowledge.
  • Experience working with utilities in Western Canada.
  • Experience related to expertise in overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV.
  • Good communication skills to articulate and discuss technical options.
  • Familiarity with GIS, CAD systems, and drawing standards.
  • Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software such as SPIDAcalc and PLSCAD.
  • Excellent leadership, positive attitude, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with remote partners and team members.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees.
