About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Manager to join our team in Burnaby, Canada. As a key member of our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of 600 V to 25 kV BC Hydro Distribution Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement distribution infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with BC Hydro standards and regulations.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design and construction of distribution infrastructure, including overhead and underground equipment.
  • Develop and implement end-of-life replacement strategies for distribution equipment, including poles, transformers, junction boxes, service boxes, vaults, and cables.
  • Utilize SPIDAcalc software to design wood poles and framing, and work within BC Hydro DAD GIS system to update asset information.
  • Collaborate with BC Hydro Owner's Engineers to ensure quality assurance and constructability of designs.
  • Generate Job Planning Folder (JPF) documentation to summarize project scope and risks.
  • Coordinate work activities with other disciplines and stakeholders, such as civil engineering, environmental, property owners, and municipalities.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Distribution Manager with a strong background in electrical engineering and project management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligible for registration.
  • Proficiency in SPIDAcalc software and BC Hydro systems (DAD GIS, SAP / Passport), or equivalent experience in other Canadian provinces.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical distribution design and project management.
  • Strong understanding of distribution equipment and infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
