About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will play a vital role in providing recovery-oriented care to adults in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide linkage between acute care hospitals and community services, including discharge planning and case conferences.
  • Assess clients and provide short-term crisis counselling and follow-up treatment, including suicide prevention and intervention.
  • Refer clients to appropriate community treatment alternatives and services, including residential programs and private therapy.
  • Maintain client records and statistics, and prepare reports as required.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities, and attend in-services and educational programs to maintain current clinical competence.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Two (2) years recent, related experience in a community or hospital psychiatric setting, or in a rapid response crisis stabilization function.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
