About the Role:

The Division of Interventional Cardiology at Surrey Memorial Hospital is seeking a dynamic and innovative Co-Regional Division Head to lead a team of interventional cardiologists and operationalize two new catheterization laboratories. The successful candidate will join the largest Health Authority in the province and work at the site with the busiest emergency department in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual operating objectives for the Regional Division.
  • Function as the channel of communication to and from the regional division to keep members informed regarding Fraser Health, Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee, departmental and divisional objectives, policies, and general activities.
  • Lead strategic and operational planning with the Regional Medical Director for the assigned Division across Fraser Health.

Quality and Utilization Monitoring/Improvement:

  • Develop standards of clinical practice for the division and ensure members work within established standards.
  • Establish a quality assurance/quality improvement structure and program for the regional division.
  • Investigate complaints regarding care provided by medical staff within the regional division.

Divisional Operations:

  • Promote health and wellness amongst Members.
  • Encourage a healthy and respectful workplace.
  • Arrange and chair local and regional divisional meetings.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of independent practice as an interventional cardiologist.
  • Eligibility for appointment to the clinical faculty of the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University once established.
  • A demonstrated record of work in a 'stand alone' site is preferred.
  • Experience and interest in developing and leading clinical programs is preferred.

  • CMPA, CPSBC Eligible, FRCPC
