Job Summary

Fraser Health's Mental Health and Psychiatry Program is seeking a candidate for the position of Regional Division Head – Older Adult Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop annual operating objectives for the Regional Division and collaborate with the Program Medical Director – Mental Health and Psychiatry.
  • Function as the channel of communication to and from the Regional Division, keeping members informed about Division objectives, policies, and general activities.
  • Develop and recommend standards of clinical practice for the Regional Division and ensure members work within established standards.
  • Encourage and facilitate programs for the continuing medical education of Regional Department members.
  • Arrange and chair Regional Division meetings as required.
  • Work with universities to promote education programs and research activities.
  • Promote health and wellness among Members and encourage a healthy, respectful workplace.
  • Investigate and document complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Regional Division.
  • Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Division.
  • Establish a quality assurance/quality improvement structure and program for the Regional Department.

Qualifications:
  • Eligibility for FRCPC registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Current experience in Geriatric Psychiatry required.
  • Recent medical administrative experience in Geriatric Psychiatry.
