About the Role

The Triage and Transition team at CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health plays a crucial role in streamlining the intake experience for families and ensuring a seamless transition to community partners. As a Registered Nurse on this team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for children and adolescents, providing nursing assessments and plans of care, and practicing according to the code of ethics and practice standards of your professional college.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including medication administration, teaching, and health promotion.
  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure continuity of care and promote a collaborative approach to patient care.
  • Identify opportunities for service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements, utilizing evidence-informed practice and aligning with CASA's strategic and operational plan.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient electronic health records.
  • Contribute to program and clinical team meetings, sharing expertise and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
  • Minimum three years' recent experience in pediatrics and mental health, with a strong clinical assessment and evaluation background.
  • Relevant experience in a child and adolescent mental health treatment setting, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records or similar information systems.
  • Valid Class 5 operator's license and access to transportation.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification, as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
