Job Title: Junior UI/UX Designer

We are seeking a talented Junior UI/UX Designer to join our team at Saatchi & Saatchi Toronto, a leading advertising agency within Publicis Groupe. As a Junior UI/UX Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our clients' digital products and services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop a deep understanding of our team's internal processes, collaborative tools, and version control systems through training and personal activities to ensure seamless integration and contribution.
  2. Design and create high-quality visual assets for projects, from conceptualization to minor updates, adhering to style guides and ensuring accuracy and consistency in development.
  3. Manipulate photo assets through cropping, composition, and basic retouching techniques as required.
  4. Produce and present wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups in Figma to effectively communicate design and functionality to the team and clients.
  5. Lay out screen breakpoints and apply grid layouts to ensure accuracy and consistency in development.
  6. Engage in constructive feedback and input with colleagues during brainstorms and internal design reviews.
  7. Collaborate with our in-house development team to ensure projects meet prescribed design guidelines, resolving design/developer obstacles and concerns.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a UI/UX design role or similar, with a focus on best practices in UI/UX.
  2. Working knowledge in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Suite.
  3. Understanding of typography, layout, photo manipulation/retouching, and graphic design fundamentals.
  4. Experience in website design for desktop, tablet, and mobile with a mobile-first mindset.
  5. Design within consistent design languages and design systems through conceptualization to production.
  6. Understanding of producing assets for development.
  7. Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and articulating design rationale clearly and convincingly to clients and colleagues.
  8. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt under fast timelines and changing requirements.
  9. Passion for learning, expanding your skillset, and employing the latest digital tools, processes, and technology.
