Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our production operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating daily materials conveyance activities, ensuring the safety and efficiency of production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach, coach, and mentor supervisors to enhance leadership knowledge and skills
  • Conduct performance appraisals and ensure employees are trained or certified as required
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with all departments
  • Support other area leaders and lead hands in compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Plan and direct the utilization of equipment and manpower to achieve effective results
  • Monitor and adjust inventory balances as required
  • Participate in personnel requirements planning, overtime scheduling, and coordinating layoffs
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with material handling equipment
  • Support supervisors in compliance with OHSA procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field (production/materials) and/or related work experience
  • 3-5 years leadership experience
  • Experience in material flow design in a Tier One automotive environment
  • ERP systems experience, specifically CMS in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business objectives
  • Experienced in Lean Implementation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills
