About the Role

The Director of Grid Operations and Modernization will oversee the System Control Centre, Transformer Stations, Grid Control Systems (SCADA, ADMS, DERMS), Grid Automation, Metering, and Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). This position is critical in driving reliability improvements, managing outages, and ensuring safe and reliable electricity delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the 24/7 Grid Control Centre to ensure efficient operations and timely outage response.
  • Lead the implementation of critical grid control systems (SCADA, ADMS, OMS, FLISR) and automation technologies.
  • Develop programs to measure and improve outage reliability, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee projects for new transformer stations and infrastructure to support grid expansion.
  • Execute grid edge systems, including AMI 2.0, to position us as a leader in the energy space.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, introducing new processes and technologies.
  • Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets, ensuring cost-control and financial performance.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety requirements, leading audits and compliance documentation.
  • Mentor and develop a diverse team, promoting an inclusive and high-performing culture.
