Assistant Professor of Visual Neuroscience

We are seeking an exceptional scientist to join our interdepartmental Retina and Optic Nerve Research Group as an Assistant Professor of Visual Neuroscience. This tenure-stream appointment will be held jointly in the Department of Medical Neuroscience (80%) and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (20%). The successful candidate will have a strong research background in visual neuroscience and a demonstrated ability to develop an extramurally funded research program.
Responsibilities:- Develop and lead an independent research program in visual neuroscience, with a focus on retinal circuitry, cell biology, or physiology.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience and visual science.
- Participate in the training of ophthalmology residents and fellows.
- Contribute to departmental and faculty-level administrative activities.
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- At least three years of postdoctoral experience.
- Demonstrated research excellence in visual neuroscience.
- Demonstrated excellence or potential for excellence in teaching.
