About the Role

Responsibilities
  • Collect and process samples for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate results and timely turnaround times.
  • Assist with animal handling, restraint, and care during treatment and surgery, prioritizing animal safety and well-being.
  • Operate diagnostic radiography equipment to capture high-quality images, supporting accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Provide supportive care and assistance to veterinarians before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of our veterinarians, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Counsel clients on animal health care, offering education and guidance to promote optimal pet health.
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy to animals, helping them recover from illnesses or injuries.
  • Offer wound and bandage care, ensuring proper wound management and promoting healing.
Work Environment and Conditions

This is a fast-paced environment that requires excellent hand-eye coordination, stamina, and the ability to work under pressure. You will be standing for extended periods, combining sitting, standing, and walking throughout your shift. Your ability to distinguish between colors and maintain focus in a dynamic setting is essential.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, preferably as a veterinary assistant or technician.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, clients, and other team members.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods, with regular breaks and self-care practices.
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the demands and responsibilities associated with this position.
