HR Manager

The HR Manager will provide strategic and operational support to internal client groups in Canada. This role is responsible for driving the development, communication, implementation, training, and tracking of all Human Resources policies and programs. The successful candidate will also play a key role in hiring, coaching leaders through change, organizational design, performance management, employee relations, legal compliance, and participation in both divisional and corporate project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in annual Talent Review for client groups, driving leader ownership of follow-up activity throughout the fiscal year in alignment with budgetary and strategic planning
Communicate and partner with client group leaders to drive buy-in and completion of developmental activities for the annual Performance Management process
Provide continued oversight of current organizational structure and identify opportunities for enhancement of team effectiveness through reporting structures
Counsel managers on candidate selection; conduct and analyze exit interviews when needed
Provide up-to-date compensation information and market pricing, working directly with the WHQ Compensation team to ensure appropriate budgeting for open positions and external and internal offer recommendations
Maintain job descriptions in direct partnership with functional leadership and in compliance with legislation
Open requisitions and work directly with the Talent Acquisition team for timely hiring and offer approvals
Support Learning and Organizational Development team in key initiatives including Engagement Survey, Leadership Training, and identification of Career Pathing and developmental opportunities in response to organizational challenges such as talent retention
Coordinate communication and administration of client group specific workshops, training, and developmental opportunities
Attend educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies in tandem with corporate office
Leads Employee Engagement Survey initiatives
Guide, counsel, and approve actions of management team in support of resolution of employee relations issues
Conduct investigations applying objective analysis and recommendation, through to conclusion
Ensure consistency in administration and compliance with all company policies and procedures
Mitigate risk by keeping up to date on all relevant labor law and industry trends
Manage all disability claims by partnering with our benefit provider on status of disability, gradual return to work plans and accommodation process
Qualifications:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proven organizational skills including the ability to manage a dynamic work volume
Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
A demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-level executives, customers, and vendors
Strong sense of urgency: timely delivery of executive administration tasks
Ability to work independently and with others to support a strong team development
Good judgment and a strong sense of confidentiality
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
