Job Title: Winter Grounds Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our Winter Grounds Team at Blue Mountain Resort. As a Winter Grounds Worker, you will be responsible for performing snow removal activities on resort property and affiliated properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove snow utilizing shovels and/or snow blowers
  • Apply ice melt and/or sand as required
  • Conduct ice patrols and assess general hazards to ensure the safety of our guests and employees
  • Monitor material levels in SOS bins around the resort
  • Record detailed notes and logs on activities and material applications throughout shift
  • Make basic repairs/maintenance of departmental equipment such as snow blowers
  • Inform leadership of supplies required such as equipment parts, ice melt, etc.
  • Responsible for waste management of trash, recycling and food waste (organic matter)
Requirements:
  • Enjoy working outdoors and able to handle and function in inclement weather conditions
  • A willingness to work additional hours and shifts as needed
  • Must be physically fit; able to lift and carry heavy objects and materials (snow, ice melt bags, etc.) and perform repetitive tasks involving shoveling, bending, stretching, walking and kneeling
  • Must be able to follow established procedures, take responsibility for completing assigned tasks and document accurately
  • Knowledge of resort an asset
  • Valid Class "G" Driver's License with satisfactory driver's abstract required
