Job Title: Communicative Disorders Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team at Niagara Children's Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing communication and hearing screenings, implementing communication intervention programs, and assisting with program management and waitlists.

About the Role:
  • Provide communication and hearing screenings for children and youth with complex communication needs
  • Implement communication intervention programs individually and in groups, based on goals outlined by the supervisor
  • Assist with program management and waitlists, as well as promotional activities
  • Work with children and youth with a complex profile of needs to deliver an interdisciplinary approach to care with community partnering agencies in an outreach capacity
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Communicative/Communication Disorders Assistant program at a recognized college/university
  • A sound understanding and skill in the practice of Communication Disorders, with an interest or background in autism, preschool, or school-based rehab services
  • Ability to work effectively with children, youth, and families, both in-person and virtually through video-enabled telepracticing
  • Effectively manage changing caseloads
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Current CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certifications
  • Access to a vehicle and possession of a driver's license valid in Ontario
