About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Aide to join our team at AgeCare Cariboo Place. As a Resident Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications as required, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
  • Meal Service: Serve meal trays and assist residents with feeding, promoting a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and comfortable environment, performing light housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
  • Companionship: Engage with residents through conversation, activities, and outings, promoting social interaction and a sense of community.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as falls or medical incidents, providing immediate care and support.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or equivalent certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a care-giving role, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), First Aid, CPR, and any other relevant certifications.
