We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at Eastbrook Elementary. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and social development. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide individualized support to students. This may include assisting with instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing emotional support to students who may require it. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in instructional activities, including reading, writing, and math.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supervising students during transitions and breaks.
  • Provide emotional support to students who may require it, including counseling and mentoring.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure consistency in support and communication.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary training or certification in a related field (e.g. education, child development).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
