About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker Apprentice to join our team at Brampton Kitchen & Cabinets Ltd. As a Cabinetmaker Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced craftsmen in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality cabinets and furniture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, as well as prepare and apply laminated plastics.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, and apply lacquer or other sealers.
  • Apply toners, highlights, glazes, or shaders to achieve the desired finish.
  • Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.
Work Environment

As a Cabinetmaker Apprentice, you will work in a millwork shop environment, which can be noisy and dusty at times. You will be required to stand for long periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and may be exposed to physical demands.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but you must be willing to train and learn.
  • 35 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
  • English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
