About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaking Apprentice to join our team at Brampton Kitchen & Cabinets Ltd. As a Cabinetmaking Apprentice, you will assist our experienced cabinetmakers in the fabrication and assembly of custom cabinets and furniture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, as well as prepare and apply laminated plastics.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Apply lacquer or other sealers.
  • Apply toners, highlights, glazes, or shaders to achieve the desired finish.
  • Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces.
Work Environment

As a Cabinetmaking Apprentice, you will work in a fast-paced millwork shop environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel to perform tasks.

Requirements
  • Will train on the job.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.
  • 35 hours of work per week.
