Job Title: Mental Health Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Coordinator to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Specialized Services department, you will play a vital role in coordinating mental health and substance use services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and assigning requests for consultation, prioritizing consultations based on urgency and assessment of patients. You will provide consistent liaison with physician, nursing unit staff, and other healthcare professionals, building capacity through supporting care planning and providing education to healthcare professionals, networking with appropriate community programs, and supporting coordinated transition to community.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and assign requests for consultation
  • Prioritize consultations based on urgency and assessment of patients
  • Provide consistent liaison with physician, nursing unit staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Support care planning and provide education to healthcare professionals
  • Network with appropriate community programs and support coordinated transition to community
Requirements:
  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN or RPN
  • Three (3) years of recent related clinical experience in an acute care Mental Health and Substance Use setting
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Successful initial RCMP Security Screen and subsequent Enhanced Security Clearance
