We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Soo Foundry & Machine. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing construction specifications, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

**Job Summary:**

The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, with experience in designing and developing construction plans, specifications, and procedures. You will work closely with our clients and other members of the engineering team to determine project requirements, evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials, and supervise technicians and engineers.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team to determine project requirements;
  • Develop construction specifications and procedures;
  • Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations;
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials;
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates.

**Requirements:**

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university;
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in industrial, commercial, or institutional sectors;
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
