About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our Engineering Services team at Valmet. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing electrical and fluid schematics, machine control and human machine interface software for our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Developing machine code in PLC or DNA system as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI) software to ensure equipment functions as specified.
  2. Providing technical support for project meetings with customers.
  3. Delivering technical training to customers' operators and/or maintenance personnel as needed.
  4. Making return trips to the site to eliminate warranty issues or address customer needs.

Requirements

A two or four-year degree in Engineering, Papermaking Technology, programming, or a related field; three to five years' experience in a technical role within the papermaking industry or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Understanding of PLC programming and papermaking machinery and hydraulic systems a plus, but not required.
