Job Title: Freight Forwarding Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Recruit and Train Staff: Lead a team of logistics professionals and provide training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Manage Finances and Budget: Oversee the financial aspects of the logistics operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Arrange Shipping Documentation and Tracking: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documents and tracking of goods in transit.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance: Verify that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Negotiate Services and Rates: Establish and maintain relationships with transportation providers and negotiate favorable rates and services.
  • Oversee Vehicle Scheduling and Dispatch: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of vehicles and goods to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
  • Record Cargo Information: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, including hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as logistics, transportation, or business.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a logistics or transportation management role.
  • Work Setting: Shipping company or agency.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, excellent written communication, judgment, organized, and proactive.
