Job Summary

New City Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of our construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical projects and will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Planning: Assist the Project Manager in scheduling and planning the construction project, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Progress Reporting: Communicate progress reports to the Construction Project Manager, highlighting any issues or concerns that may impact the project timeline.
  • Site Administration: Monitor daily sign-in and sign-out via Sitemax, ensuring that all personnel are accounted for and that site safety protocols are followed.
  • Material Coordination: Coordinate material needs with the Project Coordinator on a weekly basis, ensuring that all necessary materials are available when needed.
  • Site Meetings: Attend all site meetings with trades and engineers, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Meeting Minutes: Record meeting minutes for bi-weekly engineer-driven meetings, ensuring that all decisions and actions are documented.
  • Trade Supervision: Supervise trades' scopes and quality of installations, ensuring that all work meets the required standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Address issues with trades as they arise, ensuring that all problems are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Activity Coordination: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily activities of trades, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate work activities with subcontractors, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available when needed.
  • Site Safety: Ensure safe working conditions are maintained, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow up with SVR and SI for trade completeness and QA, ensuring that all work meets the required standards.
  • Project Completion: Ensure that trades complete work according to POs and COs, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in a related field and relevant bonding and certifications.
  • Background: Background in mechanical and electrical projects.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience: Experience in preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations.
  • Ability: Ability to create realistic schedules for timely project completion.
  • Cost Control: Proven cost control measures and strong project management skills.
  • Priority Management: Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
  • Delegation: Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress.
